At the bottom of most tweets a new icon has just appeared on the left. These are bars that are reminiscent of statistical indicators and that allow us to know the number of views that each tweet has had, expanding the information that was already shown on the number of comments, retweets or times that it has been marked as a favorite.
Twitter counts each visualization, from those of the author himself to those that arise from searches or tweets embedded in a website
Visible both in the web version and in the apps for iOS and Android, it reports how many times this content has been viewed, something that until now was only accessible to the author of the tweet but will now be public data, although with some exceptions: Neither will this information appear in tweets addressed to Communities or Circles, nor in those tweets published some time ago.
The display refers to each time the tweet has appeared on the screen of a user, even the one who has published said tweet, regardless of whether the display has occurred when accessing a search (also if it is carried out by the author of the tweet himself). tweet), from the user’s profile or even when the tweet is embedded in other content, such as on a web page.
It also counts individually the fact that the same tweet is viewed by the same user from the app or from the web. From Twitter it is emphasized that Viewing is understood every time the tweet is displayed on a screenno matter who, where and how many times sees it.
At first, the display option appeared limited (only the author could see the view counter, only after clicking on them…) but currently they are displayed by default in all tweets and all users can see the results, whether or not they are the authors of the tweet.
This is one of the new features that Elon Musk, owner of Twitter, announced on December 1 that would be included in the platform with the aim of demonstrating its dynamism as well as for the sake of something that could be called “statistical transparency” and that complements the statistics already provided by retweets and tweets marked as favorites.
