Short messages, up to 140 characters… that’s how Twitter started more than 15 years ago, some simple instructions for a platform that has undergone a huge number of changes, being a point of reference for all those who work with journalism and content in general.
With that in mind, the amount of space has been increasing over time, and now it is the turn of the video world, since Twitter Blue subscribers will be able to upload videos of up to 60 minutes, true documentaries to compete with the rest of networks in this regard.
The videos will be able to have a resolution of 1080p and a size of 2 GB maximum, far exceeding the 10 minutes with 512 MB that is now the limit.
The upload of large videos must be done from a computer, since from Android and iPhone it is still necessary to respect the previous limits.
On the Twitter support page indicate that this video quality may be altered for distribution, syndication, publication or broadcast by both Twitter and its partners, and that they may adapt the video to suit different media, but followers will be able to view it on our timeline with the quality that we have defined.
It is feared that this will open the doors for users to share movies or series, although Twitter Blue users risk having their account cancelled, and we are talking about a paid account.
These paid users will also see their responses over the responses of the free ones, so it seems that the benefits continue to increase with the aim of attracting more users who decide to pay their subscription to make Twitter a profitable company.
