Twitch is known for streaming live streams, and with the desktop’s characteristic horizontal format, content creators had to juggle to convert to mobile devices. Therefore, the platform announced that it is launching a new video editor designed to crop the vertical format.

Streamers will find the new editor in the clip manager in the creator dashboard. According to TechCrunch, clicking “edit and share clip” will open a tool that will make it easy to create vertical video clips. Users can choose to create a video that shows a portion of the entire stream or one that splits the view between the stream and the camera.

There is also a button at the bottom of the editor that they can activate to add their channel name to the clip. Once selected, they can download or share it directly to YouTube Shorts with a title and description they wrote.

While the feature only comes with YouTube integration at the moment, Twitch appears to have plans to add quick sharing to other platforms in the future. For now, creators will have to manually upload their videos if they want to promote their streams through Instagram Reels, Snapchat, and TikTok.
