The Tallaght and Bluebell communities are in mourning following the death of “true gentleman” Michael Doyle.

Mr Doyle passed away “peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home” on Tuesday.

He was originally from Bluebell Road, and late of Maplewood Avenue in Springfield in Tallaght.

And St Mark’s GAA club led the online tributes to Mr Doyle, saying he was always on the sidelines cheering players on.

They wrote on Facebook: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Doyle.

“We are thinking of Michael’s children Tommo, Michael, Gareth, Anthony and Ann Marie as well as his wife Ann and all the grandchildren on this day.

“A lot of people would recognise Michael for the amount of time he spent on the sideline supporting the lads in their exploits on the field here at St Mark’s.

“We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the Doyle family at this time.”

Locals expressed their sadness at Mr Doyle’s passing online, saying he “always had time for a chat”.

One said: “Ah no I’m so so sorry to hear this. What a lovely man and a character. Thoughts and prayers with you all.”

A second wrote: “So sad to hear about Michael passing. A great Nieghbour and a lovely man. To all the Doyle’s I’m thinking of you all. RIP.”
