The Snapdragon processor of the Samsung Galaxy S23 will have a big surprise

There is less and less left for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Be official, specifically this will happen on February 1. Despite everything that has been known about this terminal to date, even officially, there are still some secrets that the Korean company has kept to try to surprise to the users. And one of them has to do with the processor which will use

The component that all the models that will make up the Samsung Galaxy S23 range will use has been quite clear for some time due to the announcement of an agreement signed by the Korean company and Qualcomm. The SoC in question will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for all the models that the firm sells (and in any region, which is new). This is something that other models that are for sale already offer, such as the Xiaomi 13, but from what appears the one used for the new Galaxy will not be exactly the same.

The big difference in the processor of the Samsung Galaxy S23

According to the data that has been known, the processor used includes something that will make it better than the rest of what other manufacturers use: the working speed of its cores will be higher, since it will reach 3.36GHz (Thus exceeding the 3.2 which are the basics of the Snapdragon we are talking about). This means that for each clock cycle it performs more operations, which translates into greater work capacity and, by extension, performance. In short, it points to greater power.

It will be necessary to see how this influences the temperature that the component reaches when operating at its maximum speed, but it is normal that Samsung has taken the corresponding precautions to offer an optimized cooling system that they do not endanger something not to the SoC -and that it does not make it difficult to hold the mobile because it is very hot continuously-. In addition, it has been indicated that this different platform will have its own name: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. A way of being different, of course, but we have to wait to see if this is noticeable with the applications.

No proofs in the making

We say this because there was some information indicating that Samsung itself would produce this variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in its factories, but this will not ultimately be the case -so full production remains at TSMC-. Therefore, the variations that have to be made in the processor are made in the design itself or are subsequently executed by software. There are no other possibilities.
