Thanks to this Android setting it is possible to completely turn off vibration or make it not so powerful in some situations.

There are times when the default options of Android phones may not match the user’s preferences. It happens with things as common as notification tones or launcher settings. And the same thing happens with the power of the vibrations.

This is a feature of Android phones that is very useful for notifications, although it is also activated with other elements such as touches on the screen or keyboard. And thanks to the operating system options, it is possible to modify their intensity or even turn them off.

Furthermore, it can be deactivated in specific situations, so that the function remains activated only at times that the user is interested in, as with alarms or calls. And if your cell phone is in your pocket, it will make it easier to notice these important notices.

Modify or turn off vibration

If Android phones have been characterized by something since the creation of the operating system, it is by having plenty of options for customization and the operation of the operating system, and vibration does not escape these possibilities. To do this, you have to open Settings, go to Accessibility and then click on Vibration and touch technology.

At the beginning, there is a general switch that will allow the vibration motor to be turned off directly, in case the user does not want it to be activated at any time. However, It is also possible to make this more subtle choosing the degree of power you want in each situation.

First of all, there will be the category of calls, in which case it is not advisable to download it to be able to find out in all possible ways. There is an option that makes the mobile first vibrate and then gradually start ringing. Beyond this, you can also change the level of this engine in notifications, alarms, multimedia content or tactile response. Choosing the minimum level will be the same as turning it off. In alarms it may also be convenient to set a high power.

There are smartphones in which these levels cannot be modified with such precision or in which it is necessary to choose between turning them on or off. In those cases, this option is found in another section. Specifically, in Settings, you will have to go to Sound and vibration and once there go down to the bottom of the page. On the one hand, you can disable effects such as the phone vibrating when the charger is connected, by touching elements on the screen or by pressing on the keyboard. This last option is found in the Haptic Reaction section—on some devices—and in this case it will be possible to choose between several intensity levels on some devices.

In addition, it is also possible to find more options for vibration in the Notifications settings, within each application. Here, you can choose in which cases you do not want this form of notification to be carried out. For example, it may be a good idea to disable it in WhatsApp groups where there is a lot of discussion, as it may be annoying.
