One of the great innovations expected in the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is that it will have a larger external display. This will give a new dimension to the folding screen phone we are talking about, while also allowing it to stand out from its rivals in the market (such as OPPO or Xiaomi).
The truth is that this is a complete success, since one of the things that many users want avoid is having to use the hinge of the device (one of its most fragile parts), in order to have to carry out tasks that are easy. An example of what we say is to reply to a text message and even take a selfie-type photo in a very simple and fast way. And, this is exactly what the Korean company is looking for with this change -and everything indicates that it is going to achieve it-.
A large outdoor screen on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5
According to the data that is known, the dimensions that the integrated one could have in this place of the terminal it would be 3.4 inches -a significant increase- and that offers enough space to be able to better visualize what is displayed and even manipulate options that would be present on the touch screen. Something that suggests that it will surprise is that it will be an element with a practically square (aspect ratio of 1:1.038, so it would be completely differential in what has to do with the design.
In addition, everything indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 would have waterproof, as is the case with the new Mate that Huawei has presented with a folding screen. In what has to do with the hardware, there would be no big surprises because it will bet on options that are typical of the high end productsuch as 12GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor (so no Exynos in other models, the same thing that has happened with the Galaxy S23).
A picture is worth a thousand words
Some images -and even a video- have been published showing what the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 might look like, and the truth is that it does not look bad at all considering what we have discussed about the external screen. Of course, you will have to be a little careful with it because it takes up a lot of space and, therefore, it should be protected like those that are integrated into traditional telephones.
One final detail: the rear camera, which will maintain the use of two sensors by Samsung, points out that it will not make the leap to integrate a 50MP element. That, for example, will make the device not allow 8K quality recordings, and may be one of its Achilles heels if this information is confirmed.
