This Friday (27), the HBO confirmed that The Last of Us has been renewed for a second season. The announcement of the novelty was made by the social networks of the plot and there is still no scheduled date for the release of the continuation, but it could be in 2024.
The announcement of the official continuation of the plot was already expected by the actors and by the fans of the story and the game, considering that the series was critically acclaimed specialized and broke audience records on HBO’s streaming service.

It is worth mentioning that the series is based on the game of the same name and takes place 20 years after the near extinction of humanity due to Cordyceps fungal infection. That’s when Joel is hired to get Ellie out of a quarantine zone.
Meanwhile, what should be a simple job for him becomes a brutal journey across the United States, where both depend on each other for survival. The screenplay is by Craig Mazin, from Chernobyl, and Neil Druckmann, co-creator of the game.
