iPhone, iPad, and Mac users who use the suite of iWork now have a new version available (12.1). The functions are interesting, remembering that in the last version (12.0) an automation was released to the apps of the suite for Mac. Now it focuses a little more on the iPhone and iPad.

iWork is updated with news for iPhone, iPad and Mac

We start with the news, the most important are focused on Keynote and Pages. Numbers was the app that only received a single update, better performance when inserting rows and columns in spreadsheets that include large tables.

In Keynote you will be able to appreciate 3 new functions:

  • Dynamic backgrounds that move continuously as you move from one slide to anothera subtle and visually interesting movement to give your presentation a different style.
  • select new animated themes with dynamic backgrounds
  • Jumps or unjumps all slides on a collapsed group.

For Pages these novelties are contemplated:

  • If you create personalized letters, cards or envelopes, now you will have a mail merge function for multiple recipients
  • New templates included for event invitations or to make certificates for students
  • Export Pages files to text (.txt) format.

An update that comes after WWDC

It is the first update since the new Apple operating systems were introduced. On this occasion, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS updates are the sameso if you use one of the novelties you will have no problem following the work on both devices.

Keep in mind that being new versions, it will probably take a while to download and also that in your operating system (iOS, iPadOS or macOS) it does not appear quickly in the App Store. If that’s the case, be patient and check throughout the day for new updates. If you have not downloaded any of the apps, you can go to the technical sheet of each app and check that the new features of version 12.1 are already included.
