A new filtration claims that the iPhone 14 Pro will feature an improved Lightning connector, which will increase the transfer speed from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0.
If true, this would be a significant step forward for future owners of the iPhone 14 Pro, since the maximum limit of USB 2.0 (480 Mbps, 60 MB/s) would give way to a transfer speed of USB 3.0 (5 Gbps, 640 MB/s).
This claim comes from the same source that also suggested in November 2021 that the Apple iPhone 14 Pro would come with a USB-C port, so we should take it with a grain of salt.
The report states that it is currently unclear whether the non-“Pro” models, i.e. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, will also feature a Lightning connector that can transfer data at USB 3.0 speeds.
