This still-fledgling technology is billed as the next step in hi-fi for audio and music. Still only a handful of services such as TIDAL or Amazon Music HD offer support for it that will soon also reach Apple Music, but for now the main technology brands such as Xiaomi are beginning to launch their first headphones capable of working with it. First album in Spanish with Dolby Atmos For the debut of this technology in Spain, the new LP has been chosen, and also debut feature, by JaviZone (Javier Sanz) entitled “Start because yes”. With three years of work and 10 original songs that have been produced and mixed by John Caballés, a well-known music producer, composer and director, he is the first Spanish singer to publish his album in Dolby Atmos. The video clip for her first single, which we can see below, stars alongside the influencer and actress Sara Fructuoso. What does Dolby Atmos bring to music? The name is likely to sound familiar to many in the world of cinema and series, it is even reaching video games thanks to new generation consoles such as the Xbox Series X that has already confirmed support for this technology. However, it was in 2019 when the company began to work specifically on this technology for the musical universe. Coldplay, John Williams, Elton John, Lady Gaga or The Weekend are some of those who have also worked with her on her latest releases. The technology is presented as something that goes beyond the limits of “mono” or “stereo.” The aim is to place, in the words of its creators, the listener in the center of a “soundscape”, where they are able to feel the music in a more immersive way, with more nuances, details and depth. To make a simile, it would be what 4K is to the image, and it allows us to do things like place sounds as if they were objects, at different points in the sound scene as if they were present. This expands the possibilities of playing with voices, choirs and instruments infinitely since, in addition, it is able to analyze the number of speakers available to the listener and where they are placed to reproduce the sound in an optimal way. In short, it is a technology that was born to make us feel films in a vibrant way and that is now being used by musicians to convey feelings and sensations through their art.
