It is often said that rectifying is wise, and this is something that has happened -again- on Twitter. Elon Musk’s company had introduced a change in what is seen in the main interface of the social network application and, the truth is that this medication had been liked between little and nothing by users. Well, it has been officially known that things will go back to being more or less as before. Let’s do a little history (although it hasn’t been that long): earlier this week the company decided that the user feed will show two tabs, instead of being unique as to date. The reason is that one of them was governed by an algorithm that shows what supposedly interests each person. Its name is For you, and the control is completely held by the social network, which can be unfriendly for users. The other tab is Following, it’s the traditional Twitter timeline that didn’t disappear, but it lost importance. The reason is that the default in the app was the new one, and there was no escape from it. Changes in just a few days on Twitter As expected, users of the social network have not been very satisfied with the change, and complaints have not stopped appearing in different messages. For this reason, Twitter has had to react. It has been Elon Musk himself who has spoken and announced that the company would launch an option so that you can choose the one you prefer to use (as a reminder of the last tab that was active). Something surprising that it was not done before, everything must be said, especially since the CEO of the firm himself surely reviewed the changes -since he is very involved-. The fact is that they have taken very little time to make the option that we have mentioned before available to users, and as of today, in the web version of Twitter, the feature that allows you to remember the tab that had been used for the last time is already active. In addition, it has been reported that in the applications for iOS and Android the modification will land in a matter of days. Good news, there is no doubt, since everything that users maintain control of what they do is positive. Changes, yes, but not at the cost of experience. Well, this is something that seems unbelievable that a user who has been on Twitter, and very active, such as Elon Musk, is not clear about it. It is true that having control of what each person sees the most allows for greater data management -and better knowledge for advertising-. But the movement made is so clear that it has this objective, that in a matter of days it has had to be rectified because the complaints about the new feed were very numerous. We will have to wait for Elon Musk’s next step on the social network, since he does not stop surprising his own and strangers. >
