That fiber reaches all corners of Spain is getting closer. More than anything, because the different operators, among them, Movistar, Adamo… they are expanding their fiber networks through the less populated areas of our country. However, things have to be done well. Otherwise, things happen like what has happened in this council of the Principality of Asturias.
Basically, because if the job is not well done, the same thing can happen at any time. Especially when they occur in times of strong storms, as we have been experiencing in recent weeks in some areas of our country. Although, on this occasion, this problem has come to light in northern Spain. Specifically, the great complaint of the population and the Aller City Council is that several meters of fiber optics have surfaced.
bare fiber cabling
With the last storm that has passed through the north of Spain, the truth is that it has caused several meters of the fiber optic cabling of Aller, a council of the Principality of Asturias, to be exposed. And all this has happened because, even though it was buried wiringthe fiber deployment process was carried out without pipelines.
Basically, the simple fact of not being covered fiber cabling optics along the route that joins the towns of Oyanco, Cambrosio, Les Tercies and Xiagual, has caused several meters of the network to be unearthed in this area. And all because, during the burial, of the fiber cable that supplies this connection to the mentioned towns, it was not channeled through tubes the network cabling at the installation that took place last summer. Therefore, with the harsh storm that has occurred in said area, it has completely exposed the wiring, being a danger to people who pass through said area.
Now it remains to be seen if the company that carried out the installation last summer takes charge of the review of works that were carried out in the municipality of the Principality of Asturias. Basically, because you will have to bury again all the meters of fiber optics that have been exposed in recent storms.
Fiber for 1,000 homes
During the past year, the fiber optic network reached Aller. At the time, the city council itself estimated that this new deployment of fiber would provide Internet connection to almost 1,000 inhabitants of the municipality. There was even the deployment of an optical fiber capable of supplying users with up to 1,000 Mbps speed.
Although it was a step forward to improve the Internet connection in this rural area, now it remains to be seen how to act in order to reach proceed correctly, and again, with the burying of the fiber network that has come to light, after verifying that it was not channeled through tubes. Although, this would not have been possible without the storm.
