Telegram is receiving its first update of 2023 with exciting news for all users after receiving new tools in December. The first of these includes categories for emojis, which will now be easier to find on both mobile and desktop for free users.
There’s even a new profile picture maker that lets you use animated stickers and emojis as profile pictures for accounts, groups, and channels with a custom gradient in the background.
Free Telegram users will also have new options to automatically save media to the gallery according to its type, size and which chat it was received. Speaking of media, it is now possible to select which types of media people can upload in groups, there are 9 granular types of formats that can be selected or disabled by admins.
Bot developers will now be able to select channels, groups and users that meet defined criteria, allowing users to be routed to someone for support, for example.
Finishing the news for free users, it is now possible to log in with your Apple or Google account without entering an SMS code if two-step verification is disabled in the application.
Telegram Premium users can now translate entire chats with just two taps from the top menu, where it is possible to select which languages should be translated. Free users can still translate individual messages.
The update also brings 10 new animated emoji packs made by Telegram artists and new interactive emoji animations. Free users can preview the new animations by sending emojis in the Archive chat.
Finally, Telegram Premium can now be subscribed with a discount of up to 40% in the annual option, where the 12-month charge is made in a single payment. See the conditions in Telegram > Settings > Telegram Premium.
