According to a recent study by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), Telegram channels have become the main source of information for Ukrainian citizens, surpassing television and Internet sites.

Changes in preferences for news sources indicate a shift in emphasis from television channels and a limited number of media to a variety of Internet resources, which has led to a more fragmented media environment.

According to the report, 44% of Ukrainians prefer to receive information from Telegram, 43% continue to follow television news (mainly the older generation), 36% turn to YouTube channels, and 34% read online news publications.

In conditions of a military crisis, residents of Ukraine prefer a “clip” format for presenting information with short texts and video materials.

At the same time, the report shows that trust in the Ukrainian media remains at 49%, while 43% of respondents expressed distrust in them.
