Update (5/9/2023) – MR

Capcom announced an open beta for Street Fighter 6 in May. The information had been revealed in advance by an informant in April.

The trial period will run from day May 19th to 22nd and will be available to players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Anyone can play games online, even if they don’t have a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold membership.

The only requirement for players will be to create a Capcom ID, if they don’t already have one, and connect with the desired platform. Capcom recommends that this be done before the open beta launches. According to the company, the open beta will feature the same playable characters and content as the second closed test, which took place in December last year.

Players will be able to choose fighters Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, Luke and Jamie for clashes in six different scenarios. You will also be able to create your character to participate in Ranked Matches, Casual Matches, Battle Hub Matches and Open Tournaments

Modes such as Training Mode, Hub Goods Shop, Extreme Battles, Game Center, Challenges, DJ Booth and Photo Spot will also be able to be tested in the period.

Street Fighter 6 will be released in June 2nd for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S and PC.

Recently, the president of Capcom was optimistic about the game and said that the company expects 10 million copies to be sold, making it the best-selling title in the franchise.

Street Fighter 6 may get open beta this month

The launch of the long awaited Street Fighter 6 is getting closer and although many have already managed to experience a preview of the game through closed tests, it seems that Capcom plans to release an open beta test of the game soon.

As reported on Twitter by @fubarduck, Eiko Kano, a well-known Japanese streamer who is regularly invited by Capcom to participate in programs on the official channel of the publisher, recently mentioned that an open beta of Street Fighter 6 will be held before the end of the month.

While Capcom has yet to confirm whether more rounds of Street Fighter 6 testing will be conducted ahead of the game’s June release, it’s likely that an open beta will indeed happen, considering the publisher has only conducted two closed beta tests so far with a large population. online limited. As the game is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the year, the company definitely needs to do more testing to see how well the game’s online infrastructure will handle large numbers of players at once.

The open beta would also be the perfect opportunity for those invited to the closed beta tests to try out characters beyond the eight that were available at the time, such as Dee Jay, Marisa, Cammy, Manon, Zangief, and Lily.

Street Fighter 6 will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in June 2, 2023.
