The Sony smartphone with the XQ-DQ72 model number has returned to being seen online. According to the rumors it is about Sony Xperia 5V, which would be completing the “round” of certifications in view of the presentation to the public. The last step took place at 3C, an organization that brought out the recharging capabilities.

According to the documentation, Sony Xperia 5 V should be able to recharge at maximum power of 33 watts. Not lightning therefore, especially in relation to the price which, like its predecessors, should be quite high (close to 1,000 euros), but Sony is not the only company to maintain a very conservative approach to quick top-ups even on high-end products.

Samsung for example on the S23 (Ultra aside) stops at 25 watts, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are around 20 watts, same story iPhone 14 Pro variants included. So yes, something more can be expected from Sony, but the same goes for the whole “little group”. The current Xperia 5 IV comes to 30 watts, so the gain from one generation to the next would be just 3 watts. The 3C certification for the Sony XQ-DQ72, aka Sony Xperia 5 V, did not reveal any other details about the device.

Previously the semi tops Japanese had shown up on Geekbench, even if on that occasion the lap on the benchmark had left more than a few doubts for the 16GB of RAM detected, a quantity far too high for Sony’s habits and in relation to the current product which stops at 8 GB. For the rest, Xperia 5 V should arrive with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Android 13.
