The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has set a new record 12 years after its first release. Over the years, the game has been ported to several platforms. It hit the market in 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, being acclaimed by critics and audiences.

During an interview, Bethesda boss Todd Howard confirmed that Skyrim has passed a major milestone, becoming one of the best-selling games of all time.

Released more than a decade ago, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still considered one of the best RPGs of all time, thanks to its open world design with impressive freedom, especially when we remember its age.

In an interview about Starfield, Todd Howard mentioned that Skyrim surpassed 60 million units sold since launch. With that information, GamesRadar+ ascertained that the title is currently the seventh best seller of all timelagging behind heavyweights like Tetris, Minecraft, Mario Kart 8, and Grand Theft Auto V.

Currently, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available on eight platforms from three different video game generations, indicating that its sales will not stop. However, that didn’t stop Bethesda from working on its successor The Elder Scrolls 6, which has already been made official by the company.

The most current version, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – Anniversary Editionis available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
