In October of last year, Konami finally decided to resurrect the Silent Hill franchise and announced a slew of new projects, including a remake of Silent Hill 2, brand new games, a new movie, and more.

Among the projects announced by the developer was Silent Hill: Ascension, an interactive series whose story unfolds according to the choices made by the viewer. This week the production gained a new horrifying preview.

The trailer for the new Silent Hill interactive series gives more details on Ascension’s visual style and some clues about its history.

Rather than a conventional game, Ascension is a live-streamed interactive series that, according to studio Genvid Entertainment, uses a “real-time interactive system that allows millions of people to help characters survive and change their destinies.”

According to a new summary provided alongside the trailer, Silent Hill: Ascension is “a Genvid Interactive Streaming series that features multiple main characters from around the world as they confront horrors unleashed in their communities.”

The series’ story will be “an exploration of intergenerational trauma”, which includes “an extensive set of new characters, monsters and intricately developed locations in the Silent Hill universe”.

The series will begin airing in late 2023 and will feature “daily can’t-miss moments from the live story, where each day is different from the last based on the audience’s actions.”

So, looking forward to the premiere?
