The button to send a private message directly from the recipient’s profile page on twitter disappeared for a considerable number of social network users who use the platform application for Android and iOS systems.

As reported by the 9to5Google website, reports of the disappearance have multiplied in recent hours. Especially on iOS, it looks like the option is still available to most network users, but it’s not clear by what criteria.

The function to send private messages should appear next to the button to follow the user and to activate or block notifications. Apparently, in the web version of the platform, the feature is still available without any problems.

In this case, this disappearance would be registered only in Twitter’s mobile applications. No gender changes were officially cited by the platform. So at this point it’s not entirely clear if it’s a deliberate change or some sort of bug.

It is also worth mentioning that this does not mean that private messages have completely disappeared, but it is true that starting a new conversation with a profile of interest becomes a little more complicated when the option disappears.

In these cases, you have to go to the appropriate section, marked by the icon representing an envelope, press the “new message” button, choose the recipient’s name and proceed with sending. So far, the platform has not commented on.
