Apple put its new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros on sale yesterday, and the first orders will arrive on Tuesday, October 26. While supply began to decline rapidly and delivery times lengthened to November and December, Apple has good news for some early buyers.

Apple is emailing prospective 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro buyers today informing them that “there has been a change with the delivery date.” While the email subject may seem scary, Apple actually has good news.

Shipping times are shortened in some cases

For these MacBook Pro buyers, Aple is pushing delivery times forward by more than a week in many cases. For instance, iJustine He posted on his Twitter account to share that the estimated delivery date for his 16-inch MacBook Pro changed from December to November 17.

In the meantime, Benjamin May by 9to5Mac He received an email from Apple telling him that his 16-inch MacBook Pro is scheduled to arrive a week earlier than originally scheduled. Apple’s online store is still quoting delivery times through the end of December for some configurations.

Apple faces a variety of bottlenecks as it tries to launch these new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, including significant supply chain constraints and shipping delays globally. Nonetheless, the company is apparently adopting the “under promise and over delivery” approach when it comes to shipping estimates for the new MacBook Pros.
