Samsung has started the beta test program of its One UI 5.0 at the beginning of August in view of the release of the stable version tentatively scheduled for next autumn. In the last few hours, the new version of the customized interface of the South Korean manufacturer’s smartphones has returned to the limelight after the revelations provided by Ice Universe.

The well-known leaker showed an image of some icons present in the future beta 2 version of One UI 5.0, compare with those of the previous one. This is not an upheaval but a refinement process which – as always when it comes to aesthetic aspects – can divide the public between those who appreciate one or the other version the most.

Note: One UI 5.0 beta 2 icons are those in the top row:

But, beyond the innovations introduced by the developers, how is the beta program actually progressing? In the last hours rumors go in the direction of a delayed launch of the beta test program in some markets. Please note that currently only users in possession of a smartphone from the Galaxy S22 line marketed in South Korea, Germany and the United States can officially access the betas. However, the beta test program has not yet been activated in other key markets such as China and India and may not be until the end of this week (approximately around Thursday 25 August). The causes of the delay are not known, nor whether they will affect the timing of distribution which, as always, will start from the higher-end models.
