There are many monitors on the market, but very few like the spectacular Samsung Odyssey Ark, a model that already surprised at its presentation at CES and that now hits the market as we feared with a very high price: $3,500.

Samsung promised that this Odyssey Ark would be able to replace multi-monitor setups with a single ultra-flexible screen that i could do anythingFrom serving as a massively immersive display for gaming or multimedia entertainment to creating multiple virtual monitors for productivity tasks, thanks to its ability to be used in both landscape and portrait orientation.

Its features are really impressive, starting with its massive size of 55 inches with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels). Your panel uses technology Quantum Mini-LED with local dimming that allows it to offer a static contrast of 1,000,000:1 and support for high dynamic range that rises to the maximum of the HDR2000 standard.

thinking of games, the Samsung Odyssey Ark supports the FreeSync Premium Pro synchronization function, has a refresh rate of 165 Hz and a response time of 1 milliseconds. Samsung adds a set of technologies like Ark Dial, Flex Move Screen, Multi View, Game Bar and Game Mode.

It must be said that it has integrated the Samsung Gaming Hub to serve as a single platform through which gamers can access a myriad of gaming on-demand service options, Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Google Stadia, or Amazon Luna.

The Samsung Odyssey Ark can be dimmed in height, pivot and tilt and can work in an upright position for any multitasking. The 1000R radius of curvature is high and those of us who have used them for years, especially in large diagonals, know that they are a pleasure since the field of vision is wider and they reduce distortion at the edges of the screen.

When not gaming, Samsung includes an Ark Dial controller to unlock the monitor’s various customization options, the most interesting of which is Flex Move Screen, a mode that allows users to create virtual screens between 27 and 55 inches, with the ability to change its aspect ratio (16:9, 21:9 and 32:9). The monitor can support up to four virtual displays in landscape (horizontal) mode or three in portrait (vertical) mode.

Samsung has not forgotten the sound and has assembled a really attractive system with support for Dolby Atmos, a power of 60 watts with multi-channel sound with 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers. The Samsung Odyssey Ark is available from this week in several regions with a price of $3,499. Very high, although we are surely talking about the most advanced monitor on the market.
