Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, further confirmations on the hardware specifications
Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be announced in about a month and a half, at the end of July, a little earlier than the usual mid-August time window to which Samsung had accustomed us in recent years. We now know practically everything about these two new leaflets, both from the point of view of the design and the hardware characteristics
GALAXY Z FOLD 5 VERY LIKE AZ FOLD 4
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will certainly be the one that will differ the most from the current model, not so much when opened, given that there will always be a 6.7″ AMOLED display, but when closed, thanks to the adoption of a 6.7″ AMOLED display. 3.4 “, significantly wider than the 1.9 ” of the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
For the Galaxy Z Fold 5, however, the changes do not seem to be many. Indeed, according to what was stated in recent days by leaker Ice Universe, “You can’t even call it Galaxy Z Fold 4s” [tanto sono poche le novità ]”.
As we have seen in recent weeks, in fact, from an aesthetic point of view this smartphone will be very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. A novelty should be represented by the adoption of a new hinge capable of significantly reducing the central fold.
NEW ‘DROP’ HINGE
In practice, it should be of the “teardrop” type, similar to that also seen on other manufacturers’ leaflets. This solution will allow the flexible panel to curve inside itself while also allowing a more adherent closure to prevent the entry of sand, dust and other small solid bodies when we keep it in a pocket. A similar solution should also be adopted on the Flip. Also thanks to this zipper, water resistance could increase.
Remaining on the design theme, the external display should maintain the same dimensions. On the back, however, the only change should concern the placement of the LED flashmoved to the side of the photographic module.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 Hardware
But let’s move on to the hardware part which in the last few hours has seen further confirmation of most of the specifications by an authoritative source, Yogesh Brar. Unfortunately, with the exception of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Samsung processor (slightly overclocked), everything else would seem to be very similar to what is already present in the Fold 4. Not that it’s a bad thing, but obviously something more of a generation is always expected in generation, especially by Samsung.
