In recent weeks, several leaks about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 have flooded the internet. While some cited dimensions and specifications, others brought up the possibility of the devices reaching the market earlier than expected.
Now, the Smartprix website has obtained high quality images of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, bringing a design very similar to its predecessor.
As can be seen in the images below, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is very similar to the Z Fold 4. This is not exactly new, as several rumors mentioned that Samsung will only bring a new look to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in 2024.
Samsung may have made the decision to save costs at a critical time in the economy. It is worth noting that the Z Fold 5 does not have the individual camera sensors of the new South Korean visual identity. In recent months, the Galaxy S23 line and other handsets such as the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy M54 also feature the new design.
Although the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has no visual novelties, this does not mean that it will hit the market without major improvements. According to rumors, it should have a new drop-shaped hinge mechanism to close without gaps, reducing accidental damage to the AMOLED display, in addition to reducing its thickness.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 should be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy platform, bringing considerable advances in performance and energy efficiency. In addition, it will support S Pen and IPX7 certification for water resistance.
