Samsung Galaxy S23

Samsung Galaxy S23 will be announced in February, by now there should be no particular doubts about these timings despite the fact that the official confirmation from the company is still missing. As we get closer to the presentation, more and more detailed indications emerge, from the processor of the series up to the photographic sector of the Ultra variant. And it is precisely on this last aspect that it is worth reporting an indiscretion published on Twitter by Ice Universe which concerns all three models – therefore S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra – and especially the video recording.

This is perhaps a “secondary” detail, but which nevertheless underlines the commitment by the South Korean company to increasingly refine the quality of its product. Let’s talk specifically about resolution in video recording which apparently is destined to pass by

  • Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, S22 Ultra: UHD 8K 7680×4320 @24fps

to

  • Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra: UHD 8K 7680×4320 @30fps

Will Galaxy S23 and S23+ be like this?

If this were confirmed, it would be a 25% improvement, sufficient – on paper, at least – to eliminate or reduce the blurring and instability typical of video recordings at 24 frames per second. This feature would then be consistent with the technical capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform that Qualcomm should make available to the unprecedented series. In fact, its factsheet reads:

video capture:

  • 8K HDR @30fps
  • 4K @120fps

As for the top of the S23 Ultra range, we remind you that according to the rumors the rear camera should be composed as follows:

  • 200MP main (with the possibility of shooting also at 50MP and 12.5MP)
  • 12MP ultra wide angle
  • 10MP 3x optical tele zoom
  • 10MP 10x optical periscopic telephoto zoom
