Samsung Galaxy S22, the family is updated in Italy with the May patches
Samsung for some time now it has made – with good reason – the reputation of the best producer in the Android world as regards software support both in terms of duration, and of timeliness of updates, but also for the ability to cover large slices of its large portion with good rhythms catalog.
It often happens that updates containing the new monthly security patches are released first by the Korean giant and then by Google itself: what happened once more in May with the flagships of the Galaxy S22 family, even if only in India. But a week later we can confirm that from today it is the distribution of the update containing the May patches started also from us, in Italy.
UPDATE SLIMMER THAN INDIAN
Specifically, at the moment we have confirmations relating to Galaxy S22 base and Galaxy S22 Ultra: but it is clear that the same fate will also befall the Galaxy S22 + in these hours.
It should also be noted that the update distributed on the Italian market differs significantly from that found in India in terms of size: ours, with a weight of 211.37 MBit is much leaner than the over 600 MB of the Indian update.
The reason behind this discrepancy is probably attributable to the fact that in India they still had to recover some important corrections that had already arrived with us with one of the previous updates.
As we explained to you in the second part of our comparison between the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the iPhone 13 Pro, the latest flagships from Samsung have had a somewhat troubled career start. With the new AMD GPU, in fact, Samsung has taken an ambitious step forward, but longer than the leg: the new platform, not yet duly supported at the software level, initially generated more disadvantages than benefits.
Fortunately, the company, as expected, has continued to periodically release substantial updates for its flagship devices that have gradually significantly improved the user experience of the devices.
This latest update brings the S908BXXS2AVDB / S908B0XM2AVDB / S908BXXS2AVDB (depending on the model) firmware versions, and comes with a concise and generic changelog that, in addition to the implementation of the latest security updates, mentions the inevitable “improvement of the stability and performance of the device“and the equally canonical” bug fixes“.
