After testing the Galaxy A54, which didn’t particularly shine in several respects, DxOMark also published the tests for the new Galaxy A34 that Samsung presented last week.
Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A34 has a Super AMOLED display that switches from 90 to 120 Hza processor MediaTek Dimension 1080 octa core at 2.6GHzone 5,000mAh battery and one triple rear camera with 48 MP main sensor with optical stabilization.

The tests carried out by DxOMark on this Galaxy A34 are less than those made on the Galaxy A54. In this case, in fact, the French laboratory has only tested the photographic sector and the battery, leaving out the display and audio quality which should all in all be similar to those of the superior model.
In DxOMark’s photo test, the Galaxy A34 scored a total of 92 pointsnot many, which place him in 97th position in the general classification but in 4th place considering the price range of 200/400 euros behind OnePlus Nord 2T, Google Pixel 4a and OPPO A94. Galaxy A34 has however surpassed its predecessor by 7 points.
The Galaxy A34 was able to get good results in static scenes without too much contrast, especially landscapes and portraits. In these sorts of less demanding conditions the stills offered good exposure, nice detail but also some noise in shadow areas and blue skies. L’autofocus was always responsive and accurate in most situations. Videos recorded with the Galaxy A34 showed good exposure, low noise levels and effective video stabilization.
However, image quality decreased in more difficult conditions, such as high-contrast scenes, indoor lighting, or low light. In these cases, image detail dropped and noise became more intrusive. DxOMark also highlighted some exposure and color instabilities in consecutive shots as well as ghosting and blending artifacts present in scenes with moving subjects.
DRUMS
As for the battery, the Samsung Galaxy A34 achieved 129 points in DxOMark testsan above-average score in the database which places him at 32nd place in the global ranking and 14th in that relating to smartphones in the 200/400 euro price range.
The Galaxy A34 5G, according to DxOMark, showed excellent results when used in default mode, without any special precautions. The battery generally lasted more than 2.5 days during the typical lab usage scenario. The autonomy on the move was also judged “very good”, especially when using the GPS. Higher consumption was noted when streaming music
Charging time was longer than average taking 1 hour and 42 minutes to fully charge the 5000mAh battery. The runtime gained after a 5-minute quick charge was also below average. On the other hand, the charging efficiency is average. In general, the Galaxy A34 turned out to be well optimized.
