Samsung Galaxy A05 and Galaxy A05s: Samsung’s cheapest are renewed with a new design, 50 megapixels and a lot of battery

The successors to the Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04s present a moderate renewal where the Galaxy A05 pattern design as protagonist and other changes.

Samsung begins to renew the Samsung Galaxy A from below. The simplest ones are already here a little more than a year after their predecessors. The Samsung Galaxy A05 and A05s are very similaralthough the Samsung Galaxy A05s is the top model, with some improved specifications compared to its sibling.

Ahead, both terminals are betting on a 6.7 inch LCD screen, although with HD+ resolution on the Galaxy A05 and Full HD+ on the Galaxy A05s. Samsung doesn’t mention the refresh rate, so we can assume it’s 60Hz, even though last year’s Galaxy A04s went up to 90Hz.

On this screen we find a drop-shaped notch for the front camera, which is 8 megapixels on the Galaxy A05 and 13 megapixels on the Galaxy A05s.

From behind, both phones opt for a design that integrates the lenses into the chassis, although the camera is dual on the Galaxy A05 and triple on the Galaxy A05s. The main lens is in both cases 50 megapixels with a second 2 megapixel lens for portrait mode, but the Galaxy A05s includes an additional 2 megapixel macro lens.

In terms of power, the Samsung Galaxy A05 has a Helio G85 from MediaTek, with versions with 4 and 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage, while the Samsung Galaxy A05s bets on the Snapdragon 680 and a 6 + 128 GB version, in both cases with support for MicroSD.

What both terminals agree on is the battery, with 5,000 mAh capacity and support for 25W fast charging. The fingerprint reader is in both cases on the power button, on the side.

The two phones go on sale with Android 13 with One UI under the arm and a line of similar colors, although the Samsung Galaxy A05 decorates the back with a vertical lines patternwhile it is smooth on the Galaxy A05s.

Versions and prices of the Samsung Galaxy A05 and A05s

The Samsung Galaxy A05 and Galaxy A05s have been announced first in Asia and we still do not know if or when they will go on sale in Spain. The Samsung Galaxy A05 is available in black, green and silver for 4,299 Thai baht (111 euros to change) for the 6+128 GB version, while the Galaxy A05s still has no price and is available in green, silver, black and pink.
