RTE could welcome back audiences to the Late Late Show later this year.

The national broadcaster was forced to ban audiences from their top shows, including the Late Late Show and the final of Dancing With The Stars, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Top host Ryan Tubridy will be back in September for another season of the RTE One chat show and we could see the return of audiences to the studio — but they must be fully vaccinated, with proof in the form of their COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

RTE have put a call out for audience participation on their website.

It reads: “The Late Late Show is looking forward to welcoming our studio audience back when it is safe to do so.

“We are hoping that will happen during our upcoming season, which begins in September.

“If you would like to be part of our live studio audience, please fill in the form below.

“Tell us why you would like to be part of this exciting return.

“At present for the health and safety of RTE staff and crew working on our live programmes, we are only accepting applications from people who will be fully vaccinated at the time of broadcast.

“Proof of vaccination will be required for admission to TV studios.”

A spokesman for RTE told us that producers were hopeful they will see audiences during the season later this year.

“RTE will be continually reviewing the situation in the run-up to September in line with public health guidelines and the rollout of trial events across the country.”

Elsewhere, RTE’s new show, Take On Me, which will be hosted by Nicky Byrne is also hopeful of having a limited number of audiences on the new show when it airs later this year.

The Saturday night original series puts singers against one another to bag a grand prize of €25,000.
