Update (02/03/2023) – MR

In February, the remake of Resident Evil 4 is the game that graces the cover of the traditional magazine Game Informer. Despite promising fidelity, the title will implement changes, such as the withdrawal of QTEs (Quick Time Events).

In a new gameplay video, Leon and Luis Sera take on a horde of Ganados to protect Ashley, but are faced with an all-new sub-boss, the Minotaur.

Another interesting element was identified by the informant AestheticGamer1. Apparently, the Minotaur won’t be the only new enemy introduced in the Resident Evil 4 remake. Game Informer also mentioned the presence of a female fanatic (the hooded enemies of Salazar’s Castle).

Both enemies featured in the magazine’s coverage were scrapped from the original game. A third opponent, nicknamed “Hookman” was present in the first test version, but was removed for being an apparition and giving a supernatural tone that would not match the title. There are no references to his presence in the Remake, but nothing prevents Capcom from reformulating the character.

With the game abolishing QTEs, adding side missions and including some surprises in the story, it’s evident that Capcom is striving to make survival horror with almost 2 decades of life back in full force.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released in March 24, 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

This week, the game’s official Twitter account shared unpublished images of the title, offering us new glimpses of some scenarios, including Salazar’s castle.

The images show the cabin’s staircase, Salazar’s gloomy castle and the rooms inside the building.

There are only two months left until the release of Resident Evil 4! Here’s some art from the RE4 backdrops. What will happen in these places? Can’t wait for the premiere!

As expected, fans wasted no time comparing these new images with locations from the original game, released in 2005. As we can see, the locations visited now have much more detail and environment elements. Textures and particle effects are also significantly improved, which is not surprising.
