Last fall, Facebook officially introduced Ray-Ban Stories, its first smart glasses. It is a wearable device that combines the traditional design of classic models such as Ray-Ban’s famous Wayfarer glasses with the technological possibilities associated with smart and «wearable» devicesa step beyond smart watches by incorporating different electronic capabilities into a wardrobe accessory.

Initially, this device was released in Australia, Canada, the United States, Ireland, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Now, after a few months of testing, the company has made public that they are also available in Spain, Austria and Belgium. Starting April 14, Facebook Ray Ban Stories will also be on sale in France. The sale price is 329 euros.

In addition to bringing these smart glasses to new markets, Facebook has also announced new features for them. The most significant of all is the extension of the maximum duration of the videos that can be recorded with Ray Ban Stories. Until now the videos had a maximum duration of 30 seconds, and from the beginning of April they can be up to 60 seconds.

The glasses have two 5-megapixel cameras located at the front ends outside of the mount. Right in the location where Ray-Bans usually have silver adornments in the shape of a small diamond.

To activate it, just press a button arranged at the top of the right temple, but it can also be done through voice commands, activating the intelligent assistant with the command “Hey, Facebook”. The device notifies that the cameras are capturing images or recording video by turning on a small LED indicator next to the lens.

To accompany this expansion of smart glasses the Facebook View apprequired to edit and enhance images captured from the smart glasses, will be available in French, Spanish, Dutch and German.
