PUBG MOBILE gets Dolby Atmos support for more immersive in-game audio

the game PUBG MOBILE and Dolby Laboratories announced on Monday that Dolby Atmos immersive sound technology has arrived in the game’s Arena Mode, with realistic sound effects as a key point of the experience.

According to the companies, with Dolby Atmos, players can hear the battlefield with a new level of detail and even greater precision, such as the footsteps of opponents approaching the player’s position, for example.

Along with the vast soundscape, which brings complete immersion to every player, Dolby Atmos promises to transform every PUBG MOBILE match into an ultra-realistic experience. Currently, the feature is only available in Arena mode.

“As important as the visuals, sound effects allow players to be immersed in the PUBG MOBILE experience, helping them stay alert in the middle of the action,” said Tencent Games Publishing Head of PUBG MOBILE at Tencent Games, Vincent Wang.

Also according to the developer, players will be able to hear the slightest differences and use this to their advantage. The company also highlighted that it will continue to work together with Dolby to bring other technological advances in the future.

“Dolby is at the forefront of enabling immersive entertainment experiences and we are excited to bring Dolby Atmos to one of the most recognized names in the mobile gaming market,” said John Couling, Senior Vice President of Entertainment at Dolby Laboratories.
