Pixel 7: Google releases official video of the top-of-the-line phone revealing design and new color options
At this point, there’s little we don’t know about the look of the Pixel 7, Google’s new top-of-the-line phone that will have a presentation event next Thursday (06). To put even more emphasis on design, big tech published a new video to highlight unique color options of the model and reveal more details of its construction.
The video begins by showing the Google Pixel 7 in its unprecedented “Lemongrass” color, a shade of light green to match the camera island and gold metallic edges, such that they have a matte finish that distinguishes from the Pixel 7 Pro. Check out:
Two well-known options also come into play — Snow (white) and Obsidian (black). Aside from the camera block changes, there are few changes from the Pixel 6. Google has kept the volume and power buttons positioned in a similar area, as well as the rear cameras, flash and auxiliary microphone for video recording.
An interesting detail is that the manufacturer seems to have included the auxiliary sensors of the cameras in the pill-shaped cutout, bringing a more polished look to the rear of the Pixel 7.
This is the only information that can be extracted from the video posted on Google’s official YouTube channel. Rumors claim that the Pixel 7 will have the same 6.4-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. The display hole should replace the Pixel 6’s 8 MP sensor with an 11 MP Samsung 3J1.
At the rear, the main sensor could be the 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL GN1, while the ultra-wide-angle lens would be equipped with a 12 MP Sony IMX381. To ensure that the images have the best post-processing quality, Google Tensor G2 — the new generation of the chipset — must have good GPU and ISP improvements.
For now, we don’t have any other specifications for the Pixel 7. The expectation is that next week’s event will reveal all the details of the device that will rival the iPhone 14 and Galaxy S22 — cell phones that also work with chips designed by the manufacturers themselves.
