In July last year, OPPO launched the OPPO A97 in the Chinese market. Apparently, the Chinese manufacturer is close to launching its successor, which should be announced as OPPO A98 5G.

As mentioned above, OPPO A98 5G has been certified by NBTC, while HTML5Test has confirmed the presence of Android 98 5G operating system.
This is the first time the device is certified, but it had already been listed on Geekbench with Snapdragon 695 in November last year.
It is possible that it inherits a good part of the specifications of its predecessor, the OPPO A97. As a reminder, the device features a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen, support for a 90 Hz refresh rate and FullHD+ resolution.
Under the hood, it features MediaTek’s Dimensity 810 eight-core processor and Mali G57 GPU. As for the operating system, it comes standard with Android 12 under the ColorOS 12.1 interface.
In cameras, the OPPO A97 was launched with a dual module featuring a 48-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8-megapixel front sensor. For power, there is a 5,000mAh battery unit with 33W charging support.

OPPO A98 5G is listed on Geekbench with Snapdragon 695 and Android 13
OPPO intends to end the year by launching several smartphones. It should present the Reno 9 line soon in China and present its new folding cell phones, the OPPO Find N2 and Find Flip.
In addition to these premium devices, it should bring the OPPO A98 5G intermediary. Contrary to what was previously revealed, the device went through Geekbench with Snapdragon 695 and Android 13.
OPPO A98 5G has been listed in the Geekbench database with model code PHQ110 and is expected to hit the Chinese market soon. Under the hood, the phone will come equipped with Snapdragon 695 platform and Adreno 619 GPU.
It has a maximum speed of 2.21 GHz and six cores at 1.8 GHz. The variant listed has 8 GB of RAM, but should hit the market with other memory configurations. Geekbench also reveals that the OPPO A98 5G will come standard with Android 13 under the ColorOS 13 UI.
OPPO’s A-line phone scored 687 points in the single-core test and 2,066 in the multi-core test. Previously, the OPPO A98 5G was confused with the A1 Pro 5G, which is expected to reach selected markets with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform. While the former has code PHQ110, the latter has been listed with PGW110.
The OPPO A1 Pro 5G has a module with two circles and LED flash, but what stands out is a bright strip that comes out of the camera block and goes to the middle of the phone, giving it a unique look.

OPPO A98 passes through Geekbench with SD 8 Gen 1, 16GB RAM and more
After receiving its first certification, the OPPO A98 was once again highlighted, since the smartphone has now undergone a benchmark test and its processor has been confirmed.
According to the Geekbench platform, the numbering of the device is PGW110, and apparently the device’s processor is not the rumored Snapdragon 778G, but rather the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
The device scored 1043 points in the single-core test and 3685 in the multi-core test, and the chipset carries the “taro” code and has a configuration of 1 + 3 + 4 cores. That is, everything that the SD 8 Gen 1 has.
Other confirmed details include the presence of 16 GB of RAM and native Android 13. So far, the manufacturer has not confirmed the existence of the A98 through teasers, for example.
Anyway, previous rumors also suggest that it will have a 108 MP main camera.

OPPO A98 receives certification after leaked specs reveal Snapdragon 778G
In recent days, the OPPO A98 has been the subject of several leaks. Rumors claim that the device will be launched in November in China.
The cell phone was certified by the Chinese body TENAA, reinforcing that its announcement should take place soon.
OPPO A98 received TENAA certification with model code PHQ110. The images reveal that it will be the first phone in OPPO’s A line to feature a curved screen. For security, it will come with a fingerprint sensor under the display.
At the rear, it has a dual camera module and an LED flash. So far, the device has not been approved by the 3C body, which provides details on battery and charging.
Rumors suggest that the OPPO A98 will have a FullHD+ resolution screen and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will come with Snapdragon 778G platform with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. For power, a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 120W fast charging is expected.

OPPO A98 has leaked specifications with Snapdragon 778G and 108 MP camera
OPPO is preparing to launch a new device from the A line. Throughout the year, the Chinese manufacturer launched several devices in the family in India and China.
Most were entry-level and intermediate devices, but the new OPPO A98 should have premium intermediate specifications, according to a leak.
The Digital Chat Station tipster revealed on Weibo that the OPPO A98 will come with a Snapdragon 778G platform with 5G connectivity. For energy, it should bring a 5,000 mAh battery unit with support for fast charging at 67W, a considerable advance, since the other devices in the A line usually come with 18W and 33W.
In cameras, the main sensor will be 108 megapixels, but the other sensors were not detailed.
In display, the cell phone may come with a FullHD + resolution screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz with a hole-punch camera. The informant also mentions the presence of a curved screen, something unheard of in A line cell phones.
