OnePlus Z, twist: change of CPU and presentation in a few months?

After the rumours of a few months ago, let’s go back to talking about OnePlus Z because of some particularly interesting rumours.

In particular, according to what is reported by GSMArena and what is written by the leaker Max J on Twitter, OnePlus would have decided to make a change of course regarding the OnePlus Z processor, “replacing” the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 with the Snapdragon 765 from Qualcomm. For the uninitiated, we are talking about two SoCs that enter on foot in the 5G era. These are therefore the main choices that a manufacturer who wants to make a medium / high-end smartphone compatible with this standard has.

As for the alleged OnePlus Z technical sheet, there have been rumours for a long time of a 6.4-inch OLED screen with 90 Hz refresh rate and integrated fingerprint sensor, 8GB of RAM, 128 / 256GB of internal memory, a triple 48MP + 16MP + 12MP rear camera and a 4000 mAh battery with 30W charging support. The operating system should be Android 10 with Oxygen OS 10 customization.

Speaking of prices, there are still no precise leaks in this regard. However, many people think that the Chinese company wants to launch this smartphone just to go back to the costs of a few years ago. We’ll see: estimating the cost of OnePlus Z today is very difficult, as support for 5G seems to be involved.

Meanwhile, according to what reported by Gizchina, OnePlus Z could be presented in the month of July 2020.
