The presentation of OnePlus 11, the next top of the range expected for February 7, is very close, and the details on the characteristics of the smartphone have been known for some time now, also thanks to a media campaign carried out by OnePlus itself which has not worried too much to hide the design and specifications of his new device.

The latest information in fact they come from Pete Lau himself, CPO of Oppo and co-founder of OnePlus, who published a new message on Twitter that reveals an important novelty regarding the topic of updates (aspect also considered crucial by our audience, according to the data of our survey), as well as sharing a new render of OnePlus 11 in black color; you can find it just below.

ONEPLUS 11: 4 MAJOR UPDATE AND 5 YEARS OF PATCH

OnePlus 11: Will there be much difference with the international variant?

Lau’s message confirms that The OnePlus 11 will be OnePlus’ first smartphone to benefit from the new update policy announced last November, namely the one that provides for 4 years of major operating system updates and a total of 5 years of security updates.

This means that OnePlus 11 – which will debut with Android 13 – will receive updates until the release (including) of Android 17, thus going to offer a support policy very similar to that offered by Samsung. The South Korean house is currently the best benchmark in terms of long-term support and it seems that OnePlus wants to match it. Obviously it is not certain that the 5 years of security patches are released on a monthly basis (which is far from probable, especially after the second year), but it is still a more than acceptable time frame.

We remind you that the new policy applies exclusively – with exceptions – to the top of the OnePlus range, therefore there is no news regarding the support for smartphones belonging to the cheapest ranges, such as those of the Nord series. However, this is a fundamental step forward in order to attract new consumers to the premium segment, since the issue of support is now impossible to overshadow. Appointment then on February 7 for all the confirmations on OnePlus 11; in the meantime you can review its alleged technical data sheet by taking a look at the specifications below.
