An on-the-run murder suspect has been identified partying with fallen drugs baron John Gilligan in Spain.

The Irish Mirror can reveal gardai believe the man blasted Hamid Sanambar to death as part of the bloody Coolock feud in Dublin in 2019.

The thug fled Ireland as gardai launched a major crackdown on the gangs involved in the dispute which claimed five lives in 11 months.

Officers were stunned when the hood turned up in Alicante and was spotted drinking in pubs with the former cannabis importer in recent weeks.

A source said: “Gardai were shocked he had plucked up this relationship with Gilligan.

“They have been having drinks and partying together – it’s very random and it’s surprising. This man had been lying low since he left Ireland as things heated up in Coolock.”

Pint-sized Gilligan, who cops believe ordered the murder of Veronica Guerin, was seen in footage last month raising a glass to the heroic reporter on the 25th anniversary of her death in a twisted celebration.

The Irish Mirror can also reveal the murder suspect is understood to have been initially identified after a burner phone was recovered.

He is from Artane in Dublin and is said to come from a good background but got caught up in crime.

The man is an associate of a relative of slain drug dealer Sean Little, murdered seven days before Sanambar and left in a burning car off the M1 in Balbriggan as part of the feud.

Little’s associates blamed Iranian hitman Sanambar for their pal’s killing.

Sanambar, who was in his early 40s, was lured to Little’s home for a gathering of his pals on May 27, 2019, and was blasted with five bullets to the head in the driveway of the Kilbarron Avenue property in Coolock.
