Not only foldable: Xiaomi today also presented a new top-of-the-range Redmi smartphone. It is called K50 Ultra, and as the name easily implies, it is the best that the brand of the Chinese giant has to offer. Everything revolves around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus-based hardware platform, in fact the best mobile chip around at the moment (at least in the Android world).
No 200 MP camera as had been rumored in the past, but a respectable sensor nonetheless, a Samsung ISOCELL HP6 from 108 MP. The rest of the triple module is, to be frank, a bit of a disappointment: an 8MP wide angle and a 2MP macro. But it is practically the only weak point of a technical sheet from a true top of the range, however justifiable if you consider the prices (we’ll get to that shortly). The smartphone is on pre-order in China as of today, deliveries will begin on August 16. There are three colors available – silver, black and blue – to which one is added special variant in collaboration with the AMG Petronas formula 1 team. Apparently nothing changes in terms of technical data, but there is a special livery that incorporates elements in the style of carbon fiber. THE the price list It is as follows:
- 8 + 128 GB: 2,999 renminbi, equal to € 430
- 8 + 256 GB: 3,099 renminbi, equal to € 444
- 12 + 256 GB: 3,399 renminbi, equal to 487 €
- 12 + 512 GB: 3,699 renminbi, equal to € 531
- 12 + 512 GB AMG Petronas: 4,199 renminbi, equal to 602 €
It should be noted that on the occasion of the launch, the three intermediate variants are discounted by, respectively, 200, 200 and 300 renminbi (equivalent to approximately € 28 and 43). For the moment we have no information on a possible international launch.
