It does not matter that today it is still difficult to get an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 at official prices: rumors already tell us about some of the fundamental changes to future RTX 4000.

In fact it is expected let NVIDIA make the leap to 5nm from TSMC with its future graphics cards: the design is already finalized, rumors indicate, and the future Ada Lovelace architecture will be a cornerstone of these GPUs that could appear at the end of 2022.

Lovelace even in cars

Several leaks from people who have already advanced legitimate information about NVIDIA releases in the past show how the jump to 5nm photolithography will be one of the big changes of future graphs.

That jump will allow significant gains in performance and efficiency, and in fact we have a good example of what that lithography change represented when NVIDIA released its RTX 3000 family, with 7nm technology, vs. RTX 2000 family with its 12nm GPUs.

The leaks also indicate that the Ada Lovelace architecture that will replace the current Ampere has also already finalized its design, but it will still take time to see the result of both improvements: These new charts are not expected to arrive until the end of 2022.

That date seems logical if we take into account two-year cycles that have recently starred in NVIDIA launches in this area. The GeForce RTX 2000 were announced in August 2018 and the RTX 3000 appeared in September 2020.

At NVIDIA they seem to be preparing to try to leave behind AMD, which with its RDNA 3 microarchitecture He wants to fight again as he has already done with his Radeon RX 6900 XT with RDNA 2.

NVIDIA’s proposal might not be solely dedicated to conventional graphics cards, and in fact analysts at Moore’s Law is Dead point out that Lovelace architecture will also be used in autonomous cars of the DRIVE AGX Orin series, which will also allow to take all these advances and improvements and take advantage of them in a segment in which NVIDIA has demonstrated a strong interest.
