A NVIDIA announced this Thursday (16) the next games that will receive full support for the latest version of AI-based Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, which promises to further optimize the performance of games on PC.

According to the company, Forza Horizon 5, which already has support for Ray Tracing, will be updated to the so-called DLSS 3 on March 28th. The long-awaited first-person shooter Redfall will be released on May 2 with DLSS 3.

In addition, Diablo IV, the latest title in the genre-defining Action RPG Diablo franchise – and with several games considered among the best of all time – will launch on June 6th also with DLSS 3.

The list of PC games that support DLSS include Deceive Inc., Gripper, SMALLAND: Survive the Wilds and THE FINALS. NVIDIA will also release developer plug-ins for DLSS 3 at next week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC).

Called DLSS Frame Generation, the plug-ins will be available for access via NVIDIA Streamline, an open-source, multi-vendor framework that simplifies the integration of super-resolution technologies into 3D games and software.

To date, more than 270 games and software use NVIDIA DLSS as an AI-powered performance accelerator. DLSS 3, the latest variant of the technology, is already available in 28 released games.

Instead of rendering each pixel in one frame, DLSS allows the game to render 1/8 of the pixels and then use Artificial Intelligence and GeForce RTX Tensor Cores to reconstruct the rest of the pixels, multiplying FPS rates without affecting quality so much.

The company also highlighted a partnership with Epic Games to make the DLSS 3 plugin available in Unreal Engine 5.2, making it simple for any developer to accelerate the performance of their game or software.
