The new airpods Pro 2 were announced in September with new functions and Apple is already preparing more news for this generation with iOS 16.1 which is still in beta. According to MacRumors, the new option is intended to prevent accidental tapping of the volume slider controls on the new TWS headphones.

As we can see below, the new option is very simple. It allows you to disable the volume slider present on the earbuds of the AirPods Pro 2, thus preventing you from changing the volume of the headphones when trying to take them out.

The new setting is within the AirPods Pro’s accessibility options in its dedicated iPhone app in the latest iOS 16.1 beta, which was released on September 20.

The other gestures to activate the transparency mode, Siri and other functions of the AirPods Pro 2 are still available in the same way.

It is worth mentioning that, although iOS 16.1 has interesting new functions, it is not recommended to use it on your main smartphone, as several bugs are present on it, such as excessive battery consumption and GPS problems, for example.
