Netflix is preparing a new feature that will allow the broadcast to be turned off at a certain future time. Users will be able to set when they want their favorite movie or series to be interrupted and the Netflix application closed, to be able to dedicate themselves to other tasks, go to sleep or simply prevent the broadcast from playing in the background while it is being played. perform other tasks.

Netflix will test the timer on Android and then launch it on iOS and other devices if the results are successful

The streaming service has started testing it for Android phones. The timer can be set in 15 minute time intervals. Thus, it is possible to establish that the broadcast is interrupted at 15 minutes, at 30 minutes, at 45 minutes … allowing then to continue at any time from the same point where the application was closed.

This is especially useful in mobile phones, since it will serve to reduce battery consumption, something that is seriously affected if you continue to play a movie or series. By controlling when the broadcast will end, we do not run the risk, for example, of falling asleep and that images continue to play throughout the night.

Netflix has a function that asks the user if they still continue to watch content if they spend a long time connected without making any interaction, but with this new function they can better optimize the use of the platform.

At the moment the function comes to Android in the test phase and only available for some users, although depending on the results, Netflix will launch it for all Android users and also for iOS.
