Motorola renews its foldables with the Motorola Razr 2022: it will present it in early August

The last renewal was in 2020, so it was time to evolve the legendary Motorola Razr. And the brand has it almost ready, at least in China: Motorola confirmed that it will present its new Motorola Razr 2022. The key will be its external screen, now with many more functions.

Talking about folding mobiles implies explicitly mentioning Samsung, not in vain it is the manufacturer that has most opted for this flexible screen format on the commercial side (and beyond experiments). The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 are proof that you can reach the general public with a different mobile. And Motorola will be one of Samsung’s great rivals for this 2022, that the Razr is almost at the starting line.

More useful external screen and dual camera

We still do not know too many specifications of the future phone since Motorola has only shown some details, also the date of presentation in China. Even so, we can see a redesign on the folded face of the new Razr Motor: the screen seems to take more prominence and the cameras are multiplied by two.

As we can read in the Motorola account on Weibo, the Motorola Razr 2022 will officially see the light in China on August 2, there is less than a week left to know the expected renewal of the folding ones. And to find out if Motorola has managed to lower the price of the device: the previous Motorola Razr 5G was close to 1,500 euros (and it contrasted sharply with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, of the same screen format and considerably cheaper).

Motorola would have improved the operation of the secondary external screen so that less need to unfold the phone for common tasks. In principle, it would be possible to control the entire mobile with said screen.

The phone’s dual camera, located just below the secondary panel, expands the horizons with a combination that surely bets on a main sensor and a wide angle. Y we have confirmation of the chip included in the Motorola Razr 2022: the brand is committed to offering a premium range with all of the law thanks to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

The mobile will be presented on August 2 in China and for now it should stay there. Motorola will surely make it international, but we do not know this information and when it could present it outside the Asian borders. We will confirm this possibility as soon as we know it.
