Moto E22 and realme C30 have similar proposals within the entry-level segment. The two provide a different design, in addition to some features with characteristics of a more expensive model.
When putting Motorola and realme smartphones side by side, which bet is the best in the category? TechSmart shows you the answer now, in another Comparative.

- Conclusion
Despite being simpler models, it is clear how these devices are striking in design. In Moto, the camera block stands out for having a similar appearance to the more expensive ones, in addition to the fact that the look has become flatter. On the other hand, realme brings small ripples to improve the look and feel with a matte texture.
But even these highlights don’t indicate advanced construction, as both are composed entirely of plastic. There is also no certification guaranteeing resistance against water and dust here.
realme C30
The front didn’t get the same attention as the rear. Therefore, the duo offers a notch even in the drop format. At least, the E33 comes with a biometric reader on the side and has a more compact and lighter body than its Chinese rival.
These cell phones provide dedicated microSD card slot, so storage expansion won’t be a problem in them. Too bad the C30 still has a micro-USB port, not a USB-C like the competitor. Both contain Bluetooth 5.0, but left out NFC. Motorola was also the only one to put fifth-generation Wi-Fi in its base.
With more design and connectivity benefits, Moto opens the scoring.

Screen
Both on one side and on the other we have a 6.5-inch screen in LCD material. This means that the brightness level will be limited on sunny days. At least, the viewing angle pleases, as well as their contrast.
The resolution of the displays here is nothing more than HD+, which leaves the definition of images with less detail than ideal. Don’t expect any additional scratch protection from them either.
If there’s any differential to one side, it’s the E22’s 90 Hz refresh rate. This helps to give it a greater fluidity than the 60Hz panel present in the C30. The Moto also has a slightly higher frontal utilization, thanks to the smaller edges.
Thus, Motorola notes another point.

Sound
Unsurprisingly, entry-level smartphones usually deliver only one speaker, and there is no change for the E22 and C30. The mono system ends up compromising the immersive user experience.
Motorola put a more powerful sound than realme, but both do not disappoint in the balance between bass, mids and highs for the category. The brand belonging to Lenovo is also the only one to send a headset in the package. At the very least, both contain a physical connector for plugging in any standard accessory.
In the details, the point goes to Moto.

System
The E22 comes out of the box with Android 12 native, against the Android 11 of the C30. Both in the leanest Go Edition. As they are basic options, they should not receive major updates in the future.
5G was also left out of the pair, that is, the mobile network will be limited to the fourth generation in its use. Fortunately, the interface optimizations allow for a satisfactory fluidity in general, with an advantage for Motorola, thanks to the panel with a higher refresh rate.
As we are dealing here with the “capada” version of the little robot, you will not have more advanced features in them. Just a few modifications by the manufacturers. An example is the gesture to turn on the flashlight on the Moto.
The E22’s most up-to-date software gives it the point.

Which system or customization has more and better features? | None |
Is there a 5G mobile network? | None |

Moto comes equipped with the Helio G37 mobile platform, against the Unisoc T612 present in realme. In this fight of different chips, which is the fastest? Our speed tests indicated a considerable advantage for the Chinese, of almost two minutes in total.
Moving on to the benchmarks, the Geekbench and AnTuTu indicators gave the logic, with a clean victory for the C30. Games are limited on them by the low amount of RAM and weaker hardware, but some heavy titles still run at low quality.
For faster multitasking performance, realme takes the point.

Who wins in the most demanding games? | None |

Motorola put a 4,020 mAh battery on its cell phone, smaller than the 5,000 mAh capacity present on the realme. Does distance in number make a difference in practice? We saw that yes. The Chinese smartphone went from 23 and a half hours of autonomy and was almost six hours above the rival.
When we talk about recharging, both manufacturers send a 10 Watt adapter in the box. But even so, Moto takes much less time to complete the process and is the only one of the duo to reach 100% in less than two hours.
The C30 scores for the longest duration, and the E22 scores for the fastest charging.
Which has more battery? | Realme C30 |
Which recharges faster? | Moto E22 |
Which lasts longer according to the TC battery test? | Realme C30 |
Does it have wireless charging? | None |
Moto has a dual set for photos, while realme only comes with a rear camera. The two devices do not have the greatest highlight of the set in this regard, but they still get good images during the day. Even so, the E22 gets more right in colors and HDR than the rival. At night, the night mode helps a little in the records, but it doesn’t do a miracle to eliminate noise.
They don’t have an ultrawide or a macro lens. In the latter case, the way out is to use the main one for the function, even though it requires patience and does not offer great details. Motorola is the only one to put in a second sensor for blur, which does a decent job, as long as the scenery isn’t complex.
The Moto E scores another point for superior quality.

Photos taken with the Motorola Moto E22
Their camcorder does not go beyond Full HD resolution at 30 fps. You won’t get such a different quality from the photos on them. Not to mention that the duo does not have any stabilization system or stereo audio capture. At least, the focus is within the expected for the segment.
Without major differences between the two, we give a tie in this regard.

The devices have a front camera with the same 5 MP resolution. They take good selfies during the day, but suffer from noise at night. At least their records don’t come out with the bottom blown out. Also, recording from the front of them is limited to HD resolution.
Again, we saw no differences between them. So we have one point for each.

Both the Moto E22 and the realme C30 were launched in Europe for the same suggested price of R$ 1,100. And the scenario in today’s market hasn’t changed much. Both can be found cheaper, but for the same price in the range of R$ 700.
In other words, this Comparative ends with one point for each.
Which had the best launch price? | None |
Which has the lowest current cost? | None |
The clash between these two entry-level smartphones ended with a comfortable victory for Motorola. The E22 offers the most compact and lightweight design, the most advanced connectivity, the smoothest display and the most powerful sound. Plus, it’s the Moto that has the latest system out of the box and the best set of rear cameras for stills.
On the other hand, the C30 proved to be the best option for those who want faster performance and a battery with greater autonomy, even if it takes longer to complete the entire recharge process.
As these cell phones can be found for the same price in the current Europeian market, the Moto is the most complete option for those who want superior cameras and multimedia. As for those who prioritize speed and duration away from the shot, the Chinese model was above, but keep in mind that its negative points may have a greater weight on the scale.
