Today Google held an event to present the new Pixel 7, 7 Pro and the Pixel Watch, but in addition the company also announced news for Android 13, which will gain a new privacy and security hub. The idea is to gather all related settings in one place to facilitate information management.
The new privacy and security hub will be integrated into the Settings on Pixel devices with Android 13. According to Google, it will be integrated into the system in 2022 through a Pixel Drop update, which adds more features to its phones.
The privacy and security hub will be a main button to check the device for problems through the following functions:
- App verification using Google Play Protect;
- Device blocking methods;
- Google Account Security Check;
- Device search;
- Software and security updates.
In addition, those who purchase a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro will have access to a completely free VPN to ensure greater privacy when using their cell phone.
The prediction is that phones from other manufacturers will also receive the Privacy and Security Hub on Android 13 through an update that will be released sometime in 2023.
