Motorola is preparing to launch the new generation of the “Edge” line of cell phones to rival the latest models from Samsung and Xiaomi. After a recent leak revealed the technical specifications of the Motorola Edge 40, new rumors indicate the supposed suggested price of the premium cell phone that will succeed the Edge 30.
According to information published on the website TheTechOutlook this Wednesday (29), the Motorola Edge 40 will be more expensive than its predecessor and will cost €599 (about BRL 3,339). Parallel to this, new leaked images show the design of the cell phone in two of its color options: Eclipse Black (black) and Nebula Green (green).
It is worth remembering that the Edge 30 reached the European market for € 449 (about R $ 2,500). The model introduced last year boasts a 144Hz AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, triple 50MP cameras and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G Plus processor.
The Motorola Edge 40 should bring several hardware evolutions that can justify the increase in its price compared to the Edge 30. The brand’s new cell phone will replace the flat screen with a curved display to offer more immersion and increase the use of the frontal area. AMOLED technology and 144 Hz refresh rate will be maintained.
Another change will be the manufacturer of your processor. The Edge 40 will replace its predecessor’s Snapdragon 778G Plus with the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 — an unreleased chip that should have minor improvements over the Dimensity 8000. The new platform can offer superior performance in CPU, GPU and AI.
According to previous rumors, the Edge 40 will have a 50 MP main camera and a new wide-angle lens with a 13 MP sensor. The front camera will have the same 32 MP sensor as its predecessor. In addition, the phone will be equipped with a 4,400 mAh battery with support for fast charging at 68W (wired) or 15W (wireless).
Motorola has not confirmed the rumors, so there is still no launch forecast for the successor to the Edge 30. The model will be accompanied by a “Pro” version that should use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, serving as a rival to the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Galaxy S23.
The Motorola Edge 30 is available from Colombo for BRL 2,399 and in Magazine Luiza by BRL 2,699. The cost-benefit is average but there are 4 better models. To see the other 23 offers click here.
