The free trial periods of digital services that are usually offered under paid subscriptions allow us to have a first contact with the possibilities that they can offer us if we finally choose to contract them.

This occurs both at the individual user level as well as at the company level. In this regard, a few weeks ago we told you that Microsoft was preparing to launch a service where business users can choose to have virtual computers with Windows 10 offered from the company’s cloud, a launch that took place this week, as It was planned, but without having foreseen the avalanche of interested companies, who wanted to have their first contact through the trial period offered by Microsoft.

the excessive avalanche exceeded the company’s forecasts

The avalanche has been such that Microsoft has had no choice but to suspend the trial period until further notice, where the only option for the moment is to contract computer settings for its employees.

As we indicated yesterday, prices start at 18.20 euros per worker and month for a basic virtual computer configuration with a CPU, 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, and must have an active Windows 10 Pro operating system license. , since otherwise, the price amounts to € 21.90 per worker and month.

There is no doubt that the hybrid work model is changing the way companies produce, and having virtualized computers in the cloud with Windows 10 allows companies to offer their workers the tools they need, regardless of where in the world they are find, with the security guarantees that Microsoft offers, so companies will not have to worry about the security aspect of the way they have to do with physical computers.

According to Microsoft 365 On twitter:

Following significant demand, we have reached capacity for Windows 365 testing

For Scott Manchester, Director of Windows 365 Program Management:

We’ve seen an incredible response to Windows 365 and need to pause our free trials program while we provision additional capacity

As we pointed out, companies can only wait for the trial periods, now suspended, to be resumed until they can scale their service, or start hiring the virtual teams that they will really need for their employees.

Perhaps it is a sign that times are changing, and in the future it will be more common than the rental of physical computers.
