Man arrested after garda seize €300,000 worth of tablets in city centre

A 37-year-old man has been arrested after officers seized a whopping €288,000 worth of MDMA in Dublin city centre today.

4.8kgs of ecstasy tablets were nabbed during the sting, which was a joint operation from the Revenue Customs Service, the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and the D.M.R. North Central Divisional Drugs Unit.

The man was arrested at the scene and is being held at Store Street garda station.

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Revenue said those with information on drug smuggling can contact their confidential line.

They said: “This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.

“If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding drug smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295.”
