When a few months ago we saw on the most important catwalks in the world the trends for this autumn-winter 2016-17 that is already here, we enjoyed many interesting beauty trends. Actually the same thing happens with each season and I like to be attentive to the creations that make-up artists make for the catwalks, trends that, exactly as happens with fashion, are then transformed to become something else to wear for day to day, but that undoubtedly mark what we will wear in the coming months.
Going through all the beauty details of the major brands on both the ready-to-wear and haute couture runways, I have compiled some interesting trends that I hope you will like. You already know that, as with fashion, we will rarely transfer the trend in exactly the same way since on the catwalk they are usually daring and impractical makeup, but it is good to keep these trends in mind and transform them into looks that are wearable.
The traditional cat eye-liner gives way this autumn winter to a more elaborate, more fanciful line, which boldly decorates the eye. In the image we see the proposals of the catwalks of Emilio Pucci, Giamba and Narciso Rodriguez.
In these other options we see the proposals of Monique Lhuillier marking the eye in black, Oscar de la Renta and Nicole Miller who opted for the more traditional eye-liner.
Bold colors, impossible combinations and artistic fantasy on the eyelids. Probably the less bearable trends worse than not, for that reason we must stop taking them into account. In this collage we see some eye-liner strokes by Altuzzarra, the decorated eyelids by Chanel, the eyelashes invented by Emporio Armani and the play of color by Fendi.
What would the winter season be without the smoked lids? This season we have seen them on the catwalks reaching up to the eyebrows, with a wet and “dirty” touch and also more classic drawings. I leave you several options, from left to right Yves Saint Laurent, Moschino and DSquared2.
Another trend that cannot be missed is that of “Makeup that is not noticeable”, with the skin worked but very luminous, very clean, with almost no trace of color. And that’s what we see on the runways of Michael Kors (left), Delpozo (top), Marchesa (bottom) or Ralph Lauren (right).
The lips are dressed in very dark plum, blood red or directly, black this season. It is not an easy look since it requires well-defined and preferably full lips, but when it looks good, it is a very strong look! Who dares? In this compilation we see a blood red from Bottega Veneta (left), a matte black from Dior and a dark plum with a lacquered effect on the Louis Vuitton catwalk.
It is one of the trends that is going to hit the hardest and we have seen it on many catwalks. Here you can see more ideas from Rodarte (left), Marc Jacobs (center, top), Max Mara (center, bottom) and Marni (right).
We cannot end this review with another classic that can never be missed in any season: red lips. We have them in all shades and with two different styles: well defined and highly pigmented or made up with a finger in a blurred effect.
In this first selection we see tomato reds, passion reds well outlined and full of pigment on the catwalks of Prada, Roksanda and Max Mara.
And we have seen lips with a “bitten” or blurred effect with raspberry reds or cherry reds, for example on the catwalks of Antonio Marras, Naeem Khan or Antonio Berardi.
And so far this review of the fall winter 2017 makeup trends that we saw on the catwalks in Milan, London, Paris or New York a few months ago when the seasonal collections were presented. In these coming weeks you will find in this section of the blog all the seasonal collections of the main brands where you will surely find a trace of these sources of inspiration that we are reviewing here and now.
What do you think of everything we have seen in today’s post? With which trend do you feel most comfortable?
